On May 18-21, the International Bar Association (IBA) Board of Directors met in Vilnius, attended by the Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, David Asatiani, and the Executive Director, Giorgi Chekhani.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors listened to the reports of the IBA leadership and discussed various topical issues, including the challenges and ways to address advocacy and human rights. One of the main topics of the meeting of the Steering Committee was the aggressive Russian war in Ukraine and the additional steps to be taken by the International Bar Association to support Ukraine.
David Asatiani Also participated in the meeting of the IBA Policy Committee, of which he was elected in March 2021. The Policy Committee works and makes decisions on important issues such as the protection of human rights and the rule of law, as well as the protection of the interests of the legal profession worldwide.
