The Georgian Bar Association welcomed the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Georgia, Mr. Veselin Valkanov, on a courtesy visit. During the working meeting, Ambassador Valkanov congratulated Irakli Kandashvili on his election as Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association and wished him success in his future endeavors. The Ambassador also emphasized the important role of the legal profession in ensuring a trustworthy and effective justice system.

The memorandum aims to strengthen professional cooperation and promote the exchange of experience between the parties. The meeting also provided an opportunity for law firm representatives to directly share with the Chairman the challenges they face in their professional activities, as well as their views and recommendations aimed at supporting the legal profession, strengthening institutional cooperation, and improving the professional environment.

Irakli Kandashvili briefed the Speaker of Parliament on the ongoing developments within the Association, current projects, and future plans. The discussion also covered the Association’s renewed standing committees. Particular attention was paid to the Legislative Initiatives Committee, which will work on legislative proposals and initiatives in various areas.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Georgian Bar Association and the Business Association of Georgia, the Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association met with lawyers of member organizations of the Business Association of Georgia who are also members of the Georgian Bar Association.
