Davit Asatiani delivered a presentation at the conference, where he spoke about the modern challenges facing the legal profession and emphasized the necessity of unity, independence, and international solidarity of lawyers, which is particularly important for the establishment of the rule of law.

During the meeting, they discussed the judicial practices of the U.S. court of first instance and the specificities of criminal justice in high-profile cases. Special attention was given to the challenges of combating drug-related crimes, including projects aimed at supporting individuals with drug addiction.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the importance of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of the Legal Profession and the necessity of its ratification by the member states of the Council of Europe.

The Georgian Bar Association is consistently advancing its work in the direction of the profession’s digital transformation. As part of this goal, in May 2024, the Association and the non-profit organization “Nastavia” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at assessing digital opportunities and risks in the era of artificial intelligence, accompanied by relevant recommendations.

With the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Germany, an in-depth training module was developed for representatives of the Bar Association, and a training of trainers was conducted on the topic – the right to live in a healthy environment and access to environmental justice

A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Georgian Bar Association and the Chicago-Kent College of American Law.
