On September 16, in Albany, the capital of New York State, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Georgian Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.

The conclusion of this agreement was made possible through the initiative and efforts of the Executive Director of the Georgian Bar Association, Giorgi Tshekhani, and the Head of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association, Edward Lenci. In addition to the MOU, within the framework of this initiative, a Georgia Chapter will be established within the New York State Bar Association, to be chaired by Giorgi Tshekhani, and open to individual membership for all interested Georgian attorneys.

According to the MOU, with the involvement of the New York State Bar Association, meetings, conferences, seminars, training sessions, and other events will be organized. These activities will enable Georgian attorneys to become familiar with American legal practice and experience, and to establish close professional relationships with their American counterparts.

This agreement is of particular importance for fostering intensive cooperation between the legal professions of Georgia and the United States of America, which, in turn, will contribute to strengthening the legal profession in Georgia and reinforcing the rule of law.
