On December 18-19, in "Redisson Blue Iveria" international conference was held , aimed to introduce to the best practice and theory regarding the lawyer's role and professional guarantees. Participants were greeted by the EU Ambassador in Georgia - Janos Herman, the President of CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe) - Maria Slazak, the Chairman of the Supreme Court- Konstantine Kublashvili.
The Conference was opened by the Chairman of Georgian Bar Association -Zaza Khatiashvili. During the three sessions considered in the agenda, the discussion refered to the role of a lawyer in the justice , lawyer's procedural guarantees, necessary internship period and standards for entering the lawyer's profession, ensuring protection
of individual guarantees in criminal proceedings.
Georgian lawyers and guests have listened to the opinions of Georgian and European experts regarding the role of a lawyer in the process of justice and procedural guarantees of a lawyer's profession. The event was attended by the representatives of the judiciary authority, representatives from the Council of Justice, Georgian Parliament, Ministry of Justice, non-governmental and international organizations, universities.
