Lado Javakhishvili was awarded a bachelor's degree in law from Tbilisi State University in 2014 and master's degree in 2016. Also, in 2019 he was awarded a master's degree in public policy administration from Ilia State University. From 2013 to 2018, Lado was holding various positions in the system of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia in the direction of juvenile justice and crime prevention. From 2018 he held the position of the director of the Crime Prevention Centre, and from 2020 the position of the deputy head of the National Agency for Crime Prevention and Probation, during which he supervised strategic development of the agency, directions of crime prevention, juvenile justice, restorative justice, resocialization and rehabilitation of convicts, research and services and other directions. In November 2021, he left public service and founded the non-governmental organization Institute of Democracy and Justice. At the same time, since 2014, he is periodically an invited expert/consultant of various international organizations, at the national and international level, in the field of juvenile justice, child rights, crime prevention, restorative justice, penitentiary and probation, including such organizations as: Council of Europe, UNICEF, Penal Reform International (PRI), World Vision International, PH International and others. Lado Javakhishvili is the author of a number of textbooks and articles, since 2014 he has been an invited trainer of the Training Centre of Justice of Georgia and other organizations on various topics, and at the same time, in 2014-2019, he headed the practical crime prevention clinic at Tbilisi State University. Since 2023, he has been practicing law with general specialization in criminal law, civil law, administrative law, and human rights.
